I know that some of the search engines like yahoo have bought up other smaller companies. I am working on search engine ranking and would like to know who owns what? Does anyone know that question? Links will be helpful to a chart or something?

If you’re putting together a report for a client on their search engine rankings, covering Google, Yahoo, and MSN would give you about 95% of the available search traffic. I really don’t think you need to keep track of who bought whom.
With that said, Bruce Clay is infamous for providing his “search engine relationship chart”. This chart shows what search engines feed results to which partners. Not exactly what your looking for, but it may help. You can find it at BruceClay.com.
